Building on Ripper
The Gorille project, Ripper's home, will be using Ripper as a framework in which to perform customizable character rules checking.
The Ents project, which provides mappings between entity names and their content, will be converted into a plugin for Ripper's context object in addition to its existing implementations.
Markup Object Events (MOE)
The Ripper parser finally provides enough information for me to populate MOE objects completely, providing an object framework for manipulating lexically-rich XML. MOE will provide a more convenient object home for all the information in these events.
The context information is now in a separate package, making it easy to reuse it even in cases where Ripper's level of textual detail is unnecessary.
I'd love to see more tools which can work with this information, but it's early yet.
