What can you do with half a parser?

This is a very cut-down version of the presentation. The original required a SMIL 2.0 viewer capable of handling MIDI and MP3 audio as well as JPEG and GIF images.

This is/was a polemic created for the Extreme Markup Languages 2003 conference. If you want to see it in more traditional form, here is an earlier version. Feeling adventurous? Here is the SMIL version, which you can play with Ambulant Player. That gives you animation and sound effects, though you'll need to hit the Play button a lot to make it go, and to make the navigation appear.
