Backpedaling on the Core
While beta 1 and beta 2 both came with a full complement of features, Microsoft quietly fragmented their product line. Word and Excel finally arrived in Standard and Professional versions, with the Standard version offering only the very basic XML formats; it's still unclear whether saving files in Standard will strip XML features from files created in Professional.

XDocs to InfoPath to Enterprise-Only
XDocs, which seemed to be Microsoft's answer to the constant form wars, has faded from a great demo to a renamed product that is primarily available in Enterprise-licensed editions of Office. (You can also get it as a standalone package.) There is no free runtime at present, though there has been some discussion of a toolkit for letting InfoPath and HTML forms work together.
