Word and XSLT
-
At import
users can specify an XSLT transformation that will present their XML information with a comfortable WordML surrounding. Developers who want to create environments which let users edit XML without realizing that it isn't a regular Word document will want to use this approach.
-
At export
users can specify an XSLT transformation that stores their content in WordML or another form. While Word can do a simple "Save Data Only" that strips out the WordML, an XSLT stylesheet provides a lot more flexibility if information from WordML, and not just the explicit interface, needs to appear in the final result.
