Establishing Transformation Pathways
-
More than one
As XML processing becomes more than a means of moving information from database to database, multiple transformations of a single origin set of data is going to become more and more common. Those databases may, of course, participate in the transformation.
-
Moving beyond simple interchange models
A lot of XML work has focused on sharing information between points A and B, even where there are multiple instances of A and multiple instances of B. If we really want to take advantage of this stuff, we need to look at moving from A to B to C to D etc.
-
Critical to ubiquitous XML
XML has the potential to fit into an enormous number of application areas. As XML gets used to connect more As and Bs, expect to see XML processing becoming a generic framework for a lot of different kinds of information handling.
