Relationship-based Processing
-
Ordering 'the usual'
When you walk into the diner (or bar) where you have breakfast every day, you can order 'the usual' and everyone knows what you mean. Details like who pays and how have already been worked out, and you may even have a tab.
-
Differentiating information based on origin
These kinds of relationships don't mean that everyone can walk in and order 'the usual' without having to pay up front. This is courtesy and experience, not mind reading.
-
The telephone as last resort
In relationship-based processing, direct interaction is typically considered a reasonable approach. Can't figure out part of a document? Make a phone call.
-
Old friends and relationship networks
Friends of friends of friends of friends can sometimes (though not always) help each other.
