Joining Parser, Application, & Document Type
Improving Communications as a First Step
- Adding Another Component XPDL processors take over some chores from both the application and the parser. If the application has additional information about an XML document (MIME type, for example), XPDL can use that information to configure the parser. At the same time, XDPL information should override the information provided within documents (exact details need to be worked out) or add its information to that provided in documents.
- Building XPDL into the Parser Eventually, building XPDL processing into modular parsers would work well. XPDL processors would accept more information from the application than XML parsers, and return more completely processed information.
