XPointer and XSLT Transformations

Pointing at moving targets An XPointer is part of a URI which addresses a given document. Addressing a transformation of a document is difficult, since document parts may repeat, disappear, or change.
Left undefined This appears to be a problem that no one wants to tackle head-on.
A few attempts Yomu, a now-defunct electronic book company, had done a lot of work on mapping XPointers in original documents to XPointers in transformation results. Sadly, it seems to have disappeared with the company.
