Analog

is the old way of thinking of information. It can be disorganized, it comes in any form, any order - except the lockstep stream of on-off-on-of. Digital processes have created new metaphors and put numbers in the place of old words and other symbols. If it is based on more than 1s and 0s, it's analog. Conversions between the two have made it much easier for digital media to absorb analog information in a way that analog could never have done with digital information.
