Cyberpunk

An attitude, not a movement, and an attitude that many find dated, maybe an overdose of nostalgia. Body piercing emphasizes physical existence while (perhaps) degrading it. Leather provides a tough external shell. Technology provides a tool, an escape, a way to travel much as a Harley did for a previous generation of mental cyclists. They ride new highways, connected by new paths they have done much to establish. The police are always just a few steps behind, always clamping down on ecstasy. The cops may not know much, but their corporate allies do and are growing less tolerant of hackers hitchhiking on their private roads.
