Virus

nVIR strikes your computer. AIDS strikes your lover. Technology strikes your country. Little bits of DNA and RNA carry simple codes that can turn your body or your mind into a machine with the sole intent of replicating the virus regardless of the cost to itself. Viruses can turn the best impulses of people and technology against themselves, using their own tools against them. Our ecstasy is our destruction. They spread selectively, though, and some may be immune while others wreak havoc on vital data. An adding machine inventor's grandchild (Burroughs) can become a pedophilic junkie in Tangier. There is no insurance, no latex.
